1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Study Guides AI, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Study Guides AI is an AI-powered educational tool that allows users to paste lecture notes, textbook excerpts, or other study material and receive structured study guides, flashcards, and quizzes generated by artificial intelligence (powered by Google Gemini).

The Service is intended for personal educational and study purposes. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of generated content.

3. Accounts and Registration

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account via Clerk, our authentication provider. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent limitations or fees.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through Stripe, our payment processor.

• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until that date.
• Refunds: All fees are non-refundable except where required by law or at our sole discretion. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days.
• Price changes: We may change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
• Taxes: You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Stripe may collect applicable sales tax based on your location.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or obscene
• Submit personally identifiable information of third parties without their consent
• Use the Service to generate content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights

• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or generated content without our written permission
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our prior consent
• Circumvent any security features, access controls, or usage limits

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all notes, text, and other materials you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process and use Your Content solely to provide the Service to you.

Generated Content

Study guides, flashcards, and quizzes generated by the AI based on Your Content are provided to you for your personal use. We make no claim of ownership over AI-generated outputs derived from your input.

Our Platform

Study Guides AI, including its website, design, software, and all content not submitted by users, is owned by Study Guides AI and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.

7. Accuracy of AI-Generated Content

The study guides, flashcards, and quizzes generated by our AI are produced algorithmically and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. Study Guides AI does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of AI-generated content for any specific educational purpose. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it for academic or professional use.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, STUDY GUIDES AI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law
